The Conversation (scroll down for a plethora of interesting synchronicities shared between what became 2 close friends) "...find the others"

June 16, 2013 8:20 pm

Hey David, this is the guy that tried playing Revolver with Lucifer Rising. I listened to your guys’ Head show on Always Record, and watched along. I hadn’t seen it in about 12 years, and the first thing I thought of as the movie started was that the airplane sounds were just like the airplane sounds at the beginning of The White Album, so I tried Head with that and… fucking amazing. I tried it by starting The White Album when the airplane sound starts on Head, but now I think it’ll work just a little bit better to start the album at some point slightly before that. Some of the more noteworthy syncs I noticed were, Dear Prudence begins right as Mickey jumps off the bridge. The chorus to Happiness is a warm gun comes in right as Mickey fires the tank at the Coke machine and grins satisfactorily. Why don’t we do it in the road is playing during all the shots of the billboards, street signs and streets. The beginning of the 2nd disc, which is the song “Birthday”, should start right around the time Davey goes into “Daddy’s Song”, It’s also interesting that Michael has a birthday in the film. The “Can you take me back” ending to “Cry Baby Cry” plays while they jump off the bridge at the end of the film. Of course, there’s many more, but see what you think, if you get a chance. I’m also gonna try The White Album with the Yellow Submarine film, since it too came out in 1968. I’m also wondering how it would sync with Valley of the Dolls. Cheers, Patrick

June 16, 2013 9:49 pm
that is a fun experiment; I will have to try it, I have been interested in doing some exploration of Valley of the Dolls as well. Would do it w/ Marilyn Manson's Holywood (for many resons) but it is flawless w/ the Holy Mountain which is most likely an example of total intention on Manson's part; Mechanical Animals maybe (that is prob. a hoot no matter what)? Should try a Judy Garland album.

I couldn't help but notice this and thought you'd find it interesting. Also, I synced up Alice in Wonderland (classic Disney version) with Sgt. Pepper and MMT. Which isn't a surprise considering the vast amounts of direct influence L. Carroll had on the Beatles. I started Sgt. Pepper after the credits, as the first scene begins. And when that album finishes, started MMT. It's pretty incredible. I then tried it by starting MMT at the first scene and playing Sgt. Pepper when it's finished. Which also worked remarkably well. I also tried it by playing Sgt. Pepper back to back and that worked, too. I want to try it by starting MMT when the opening credits begin, thinking that way "I Am the Walrus" will begin when the Walrus & the Carpenter segment begins. Starting MMT at the first scene puts that song in the middle of the walrus scene. It still works great, but there might be a better sync-up. Another part of what makes it work so well is that the film is 75 minutes long, and MMT + Sgt. Pepper = something like 77 mintues (can't remember exactly). I also find it interesting how the Cheshire Cat opens the tree for Alice. Much like Da'at in the Tree of Life.

I would like to try that w/ Alice in wonderland, sounds fun. Watched Funeral Parade of Roses w/ MMT followed by the Stones Their Majesties Satanic Request (released the same day and year+ eventual John Lennon death day/feast of the immaculate conception) then followed w/ Floyd's title song Atom Heart Mother (for numerous reasons, FPofR was a primary influence for how A Clockwork Orange was shot, MMT appears opposite Atom Heart Mother behind the counter in the record store scene w/ 2001 soundtrack in the center in the 'underground' section=Alice's Adventures Underground). It was freaking incredible. Love your visual overlay.

July 12, 2013 2:55 pm

I've been meaning to see Funeral Parade of Roses. I can only imagine that sync-up would be incredible. Btw, I was wondering if you remember which interview it was that Lennon stated Burroughs got him into playing records backwards. I can't seem to find it. Although, he is on the Sgt. Pepper cover, so they were obviously into him.

This article claims Burroughs was present when McCartney recorded Eleanor Rigby.

The William S. Burroughs/Beatles connection
We all know that writer, William S. Burroughs is one of the “people we like” on the Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s album cover, but did you know that Burroughs was around when Paul McCartney composed “Eleanor Rigby”? Apparently so. Over the weekend, I noticed the following passage in the book With William...

The interview was on a version of the Rotten Apple 'winged beatle' film, they play a recording of John (as I recall) talking about Burroughs showing him how to play records backwards; the rest is extrapolated when it is acknowledged that Burroughs was a Thelemite

July 21, 2013 4:16 pm

Ah, found it. It was Paul who said Burroughs taught him to listen to records backwards.

July 22, 2013 11:59 am

I was reading that Burroughs liked to cut up phrases and sentences to make new combinations, which reminds me of the technique used in Strawberry Fields Forever. Also Burroughs often wrote w/out using punctuation, and the lyrics on the back of Sgt. Pepper have limited use of punctuation. Also, in 1969, Burroughs interviewed L Ron Hubbard and derided him in regards to Scientology.

I really loved that write up you did on the Thoth Tarot. I was thinking about the Devil card the last couple of weeks, and it's interesting that Crowley states the <ring> around the phallus represents Nut, who is the Milky Way. The phallus is penetrating her, making the dick much like a key - Dick/Richard. The Dick/RIchard is the Star Key. Richard Starkey.

If Tzaddi is not the Star The Emperor wears no clothes... That is a hard Nuit to crack.

Every man & woman is a Tsar

Empire State a nickname for the state of New York . Empire: ORIGIN Middle English : via Old French from Latin imperium, related to imperare ‘to command’ (see emperor ). IV. THE EMPEROR This card is attributed to the letter Tzaddi, and it refers to the sign of Aries in the Zodiac. This sign is ruled by Mars, and therein the Sun is exalted. The sign is thus a combination of energy in its most material form with the idea of authority. The sign TZ or TS implies this in the original, onomatopoetic form of language. It is derived from Sanskrit roots meaning Head and Age, and is found to-day in words like Cæsar, Tsar, Sirdar, Senate, Senior, Signor, Sefior, Seigneur.

Malkuth means Empire

The Tower is built out of language

PEH attention

the Pen is mightier than the Zayin (ז)

Zayin is a Vav w/ a Yud on top. This is the crown (Da'at (Yuds are taken to be thorns) or Kether depending) above Tiphareth and is the meaning of the sword in the stone. http://www.learntarot.com/bigjpgs/swords01.jpg

July 31, 2013 10:35 am

Another thing about the Thoth Devil card and Ringo (I'm assuming you know Ringo's name is Richard Starkey tongue emoticon ), it's interesting when considering the Khepri sun god scarab emerges from Nut's vulva every morning, and here we have the dick star key penetrating Nut.

Anyways, yeah, I appreciate the other things you wrote. I'm working on a thesis which points out that Paul represents the Emperor card, Ringo represents the Star card, George represents Lust card, and John is the Adjustment card. There's a myriad of ways this plays out, and it's always consistent. The two 'twists' in the zodiac that restored balance to the Tarot sequence are what tipped me off, then everything else fell into place. There's too much to get into here, but also notice how in regards to the four Kerub; George is the lion, Ringo the bull, John the man, and Paul the eagle. It plays out in many ways, most obviously on album covers like Revolver and Let it Be(old world arrangement).

interesting, though if Paul was the eagle that would mean Death, perhaps this could be why there is 2 @ least theoretically

King Kill 33

Oh yeah, this all also plays into the pid motif. Emperor also associated with fish hook, the Nun/fish in the Death card, etc.

How does the eagle = death?

Paul is the Water element, thus the Vav, the Osiris/Christ figure

Scorpio is the Eagle in Ezekiel's vision. Water portal.

The Chariot card is essentially Revolver. Did you know AbraCadabra was the working title for Revolver? (also interesting that the pid story is Paul did in a car crash, chariot).

Scorpio=death card=Hebrew Letter Nun which means fish.

Also, the Chariot and Hanged Man make up the left column of the Tree.if you overlay them (especially Rider deck), you get a man blowing his mind out in a car.

Ah, didn't realize the scorio = eagle in Ezekiel's vision, thanks.

revolver could be taken as 6 points around 7th, obvious enough, but that the 4 Qlipoth (reversals of tetragrammaton) represent the 4 death penalties; Metatron is the Revolver.

That's good.

Also Emperor associated with Aires. Paul released album "Ram" in 1971.

Atum-Ra, the ram-headed WINGed beetle

Too bad he didn't name it Rams, could of had Mars right there w/ it.

what is the Life is a bowl of cherries album he did?

oh duh its just called McCartney,

we should have you on Always Record sometime, would that interest you?

I would enjoy something like that at some point, thanks for the offer. However I don't have Skype. My browser is from 2007 and I don't know if I could even download a recent version of Skype and get it to work. I will definitely share my presentations at The Synkhole when I finish them. I'm also working on The Beatles' syncs with Egyptian Mythology, and Gnosticism/European Occult in general. I've also been compiling a database of Lennon's death syncs.

cool. if the time comes where it is a possibility let me know, it would be fun to chat

Definitely, a lot of what I've learned recently is from listening to AR. It's one thing to read stuff in a book, but when people are discussing these topics in real time, it makes the connections come much more alive.

August 13, 2013 9:14 am

Hey david, I've been re-listeing to the last couple months of AR (so much good stuff) and paying special attention to your insights about the force that is either pushing or pulling on the two outer pillars of the Tree of Life and everything associated with that. It got me thining about Samson of the Bible. As you know he was renowned for his Strength, and he destroyed a temple by bringing down two of its pillars. The interesting thing is that there is debate over whether he pushed them or pulled them. The other famous story concerning Samson is when he destroyed a lion. Anyways, in light of Jachin & Boaz meaning 'established in strength,' it seems poignant to me that he is known for his strength (path between the two pillars), Samson could be a strong resonator for the force between the two pillars, Oz, etc. This got me thinking also of The Simpsons (Samson) (Tzimtzum) , Homer being Odysseus travelling through the Abyss, Bart the starchild (see Bart Starr) Cowabunga and Don't have a cow alluding to Hathor/Milky Way/Stars, Lisa the Shekina, Maggie the Magi, Marge perhaps the Mer (sea). Mr. Burns a Hell resonator, also the two Nuclear towers, Smithers/Smithereens (oblivion). Grandpa could be a Saturn resonator, also the Springfield version of Grandma Death. etc. etc. This all came to me as I was waking up this morning after a marathon last few days of listening to the most previous 10 or so ARs, and it made sense to me at the moment, and had to see what you thought of it.

awesome, yeah I had been thinking about Sampson literally 2 minutes ago when I was referencing this in a comment to Horseloverphat Subliminalsynchrosphere, and it has come to my mind a # of times, but the lion aspect I have not thought of. Should look up the story again. I have an old copy of a Superman comic where Superman gets his hair cut off and loses his powers. I've been wanting to do that soon. Just saw Full Metal Jacket all the way through for 1st time. Another Leonard (Pyle) between Mercy (Joker "Take it easy, Leonard") and Strength (the Sgt.) That film seems to be all about the Qlipphotic tree, to me. And Private Snowball reminded me of my thought on Snowball the cat from The Simpsons. Could be a reference to "a snowball in hell".

Snowball in hell, that's good. "I AM in a world of Shit." The Qlipoth are need as fertilizer for the Tree in some places.

I just watched the 9th Gate. The discrepancies in the 3 books reminds me of the flipped percpetions in 2001:ASO. Plus, the twins at the bookstore in Portugal, (twin, flipping, mirrored trees, etc). Also nteresting that the keycode to the first guy's book room is 666 (Pulp Fiction briefcase, etc.). The lady with the 3rd book's secretary loves oranges. When the lady is murdered at the ceremony, the scarlet woman/devil lady says "Let it be." And when Corso travels to the castle at the end of the film, he goes beneath a rainbow when he is in the truck with the sheep. I still need to read Kenneth Grant's book the 9th Arch.

Hey, I finally listened to Hotel California backwards (released 12/8/76), and I do hear "John Lennon by himself", which does occur at the 2:37 mark counting backwards. forwards, the line is "Last thing I remember, I was running for the door" which describes Lennon's last moments. The line before that is "They stab it with their steely knives, but they just can't kill the beast." Played backwards, I hear, "See the white men, (unintelligible), said no good Manson."

October 10, 2013 12:35 pm

I just watched Sharon Tate's last film 12 + 1 (aka 13 Chairs) on Youtube. In it, she and the lead character run around England and Europe looking for an inheritance check hidden in one of 12 antique chairs. Each time they find one of them they stab it with a knife to search for the check. Orson Welles is in the film too. At the end of the film, the lead character creates an instant hair growth formula and in the final scene, looks like Charles Manson, which the credits are rolled over.

No freaking way! I just watched Eye of the Devil, and it is all about the 12 men around the 13th. Hard to explain, see if you can find it.

I found Eye of the Devil on youtube, it's also titled 13 in some areas. I'll watch it soon. I gotta watch Fearless Vampire Killers & Wrecking Crew, too. I forgot to mention there is also an 8-month pregnant character in 12 + 1.

October 10, 2013 6:36 pm
So I watched Valley of the Dolls w/ Marilyn Manson's Mechanical Animals the other day and Jeeeez. Start album the moment when the pills fall over and let it repeat.

The Doors have the albums Full Circle and 13, weird.

12/8, the Feast of the Immaculate conception. We have the Rosemary's Baby/Full Circle thing going on - plus, I just found that Eleanor Bron, the lead actress from Help! played Jesus' mother Mary in The Day Christ Died, which came out in... 1980! I tired syncing The White Album with Valley of the Dolls, but didn't find anything too noteworthy. Holy Mountain/Holywood was incredible, I'll have to try VotD with Mechanical Animals.

And Sharon Tate was in Barabbus (1961)

October 11, 2013 1:07 pm

I watched Eye of the Devil (minus the 1st 15 minutes, which was not on Youtube). Holy Cow, except for the conception of a moonchild, could that have been anymore like Rosemary's Baby? Not enough room on here to go into it all. Also, the priest/coven leader played by Donald Pleasence; in the gatefold of Beatles For Sale, the Beatles are standing in front of a mural of actors (it looks a lot like the Sgt. Pepper cover), and Pleasence is in the top-left corner, just like Crowley on the Sgt. Pepper cover. The cornerstone becoming the capstone.

October 11, 2013 7:56 pm
reminded me of the Wicker Man. Eye don't get the Donald Pleasence deal, you mean he is literally w/ the Beatles somewhere? In the beginning credits it has the original title from the book being 'day of the archer' or 'night of', something like that. Anyways, it shows the young boy behind the harp and then cuts to the arrow drawn, foreshadowing when this will happen later in the film. The harp could easily be taken as a reference to the biblical David, Jesus being from the house of David, so here you have David Bow-man not so subtly pointed to.

Jupiter and Beyond the Infinite.

Yeah, this is the image inside the gatefold of the Beatles For Sale LP. Donald Pleasence is in the top-left corner. Much Like Crowley is on the Pepper cover. Pleasence plays the head of the cult. Those are good points regarding Eye of the Devil. So crazy that Tate was later in 12 +1.

I looked up Pleasence's IMDB and he played a character named Parsons on two different occasions. One of them was in the first 1984 film. He also played Himmler in a movie about the 3rd Reich.

That sync-up seems to work very well. I'm finding so much crazy shit in Tate's films, I think a separate video for her may have to be made. In 'Don't Make Waves' there is a zebra rug, and a Rolls Royce. In the murder scene, Tate had a zebra rug in the living room. Polanski gave her a new Rolls Royce in 1969. The license plate was PGY, which is pyg scrambled. As far as the Lennon doc. what kinds of ideas did you have? Was there some things you want to add to it?

there are a # of ideas I had, will get back to you on them, my grlfriend just left to go to San Francisco for the night so I get to get down to some sirius synck work.

specifically trying to reproduce the Floyd Doors Shining synck w/out the use of LP records

Cool. Also in Don't Make Waves, Tate plays a skydiver, one of her stuntmen died filming a scene. The Byrds did the theme song to the film, Terry Melcher was one their producers, he owned the house Tate/Polanski were leasing on Cielo Drive. Tony Curtis, the star of the film is on the Sgt. Pepper cover. And more.

You know the anthropological idea around flowers getting imbued with the spirits of the dead through the decomposition of the body? It is referred to in the Golden Bough.

"I sometimes think that never blows so red
The Rose as where some buried Caesar bled
That every Hyacinth the Garden wears
Dropt in her Lap from some once lovely Head.

"And this reviving Herb whose tender Green
Fledges the River-Lip on which we lean-
Ah, lean upon it lightly, for who knows
From what once lovely Lip it springs unseen"

"...The red rose also was said to owe its hue to the same sad occasion; for Aphrodite, hastening to her wounded lover, trod on a bush of white roses; the cruel thorns tore her tender flesh, and her sacred blood dyed the white roses forever red."

I did not notice until I watched your vid w/ someone who is not as familiar w/ this material that it moves very fast. It might be helpful for viewers if the images and writing moved at a pace that allowed them to process more effectively. That is pretty much it for any constructive criticism I have to offer. I will keep taking notes and you can pull out anything you consider significant enough to include in your presentation which is very well done. I think you should make an hour long video on this topic

October 12, 2013 7:06 pm

Yeah, I was going for brevity, but still left things up for a few seconds longer than it took me to read them. I figured since it's a video they can pause it if they want to see something longer. And I didn't want to go into any long tangents.
Besides, as far as the brief images, a little mystery doesn't hurt. tongue emoticon
If I were to make a longer version, I would go ahead and leave things up longer.

I would also like to find somebody to redo the narration for me. I'm not much of an orator. I had to do those lines 12-16 times just to get a halfway decent take. And I'm still not happy with how it came out.

so awesome. When ever you are recording your voice (which is far better than most of the voices that do these types of vids) think of Kubrick, it certainly doesn't matter how many takes it takes.

I recall hearing that Superman 2 was in a guinness book of world records for most advertisements for a single product in a Hollywood film w/ its ridiculous amount of Marlboro adverts. 1st of all Marlboro may have been the 1st brand to introduce the Golden Rectangle w/ the exact spot its opened being the line you make to start squaring it. It also pictures the shape of a pyramid while 2001's monolith could be seen as forming the rest of the pyramid minus the cap. Philip Morris has the Caesar quote on every pack of Marlboros which translated means "We came we saw we conquered."

Saint Rosalia (1130–1166), also called La Santuzza or "The Little Saint", is the patron saint of Palermo, Italy, El Hatillo, Venezuela, and Zuata, Anzoátegui, Venezuela.
en.wikipedia.org

Rosalia is also the Latin term for the Greek Anthesteria. The Anthesteria is a Festival of Flowers ('Anthê') for Dionysos, focused primarily on opening the new wine and on placating the spirits of the dead. In Roman times, Rosalia was celebrated in the means of honoring the dead. Standards in every legion were gathered around the altar at the center of a military camp and crowned with wreaths of roses. Since similar rites were held at family tombs, this military rite may have been intended to honor fallen comrades. Some suggest that the Christian festival of Pentecost derives from the Rosalia.

just gotta say: Roman with a 13 year old in a pool of water, just sayin'

some curious points in 12+1: when Mario is @ the Roman Olympics and drops the torch; Public Auction of LIONal Benett May 23rd, 9-11 AM, in it lot #111 is a clock (111 days left of the year on Sep. 11th) "My Prophet is a Fool w/ his 111" -Book of the Law. Man is Reading book called 'My Name is LUST (OZ) changed its name to 'The Man Who Kicked the Habit' for the film. Question posed in a shop: "Don't you know ROSIE???"... Comment made at one point concerning THE WILL: "It must of given you quit a Jolt when you found out about your 1980 clause" (John killed in 1980). Mario's room # emphasized a # of times: 33 (same as Mia as Julia's Home address. The amount of Knives and cutting in this is crazy, hacking up 13 chairs. Mario shouts: "I am JACK the Ripper!" in response to "What are you doing w/ that knife, who do you think you are?"

October 13, 2013 7:24 pm

Yep, that movie is off the charts insane!

Santa Rosalia is the chairty that ended up with the check.

righteo, I posted before I had finished. Just got excited over seeing the banner in the 1st place

totla sync geek freak out

Yeah, that film had me shitting my pants tongue emoticon

Pretty syncy for a low-budget b-movie with very little distribution.

I have a whole page of notes on 12 + 1. I am going to have to do a whole presentation on her films. It's pretty disturbing though, sheesh. Be sure to see Don't Make Waves, I couldn't believe how much syncy shit was in there. It's on Youtube, too. The zebra-skin rug blew me away. And I still haven't seen Fearless Vampire Killers.

I could make you a contributer to my blog if you want. I would even let you attach your name to your contributions tongue emoticon

I'm currently working on a Beateles/Tarot post that I know I would like your consultation on.

well we are definitely focused on the same subject mattter, I'm down

That's the only Woody Allen film I've ever seen, but it's been a few years. I'll put it on my long list of to-watch films. It's funny, I was never much of a movie-watcher until I got into sync. Oh, and you have been pronouncing my last name correctly. Not there's really a 'correct way'.

good to know. bump it to the top, a bit neurotic, but its loaded, trust me.

If I can't find movies online, I reserve them at the library, so I'm at the mercy of how long it takes for them to get to me. I just re-watched Valley of the Dolls. in Sharon Tate's first scene she wears the large blue feather headdress which is uncannily like the woman on the Adjustment card, and she holds her arms out, as if holding balancing scales. The lady in the office talks about her pregnant cat. Tate's character announces she's pregnant. (but then gets an abortion). She then commits suicide and is wheeled out in a bodybag. This is the only film she isn't submerged in water, but she does put her feet in the pool for a few seconds. Although Patty Duke gets strapped into a bathtub at rehab, and the brunette falls in the ocean while on pills. It's trippy with all the Tate/water syncs, and her with the noose around her neck. Hanged Man/Mem. I could also go on for days about how Lennon syncs with Adjustment and the Hanged Man.

Isn't she in the pool when Patty Duke shows up and catches her guy w/ her and she runs away naked?

I'm pretty sure that's not Sharon. She loved her husband Tony. Even though he was at the mental hospital.

Going into it as a trilogy, this week I watched The Prestige, The Dark Knight, then Dr. Parnassus. Pretty mind-blowing the way it does play out like a trilogy.

could see that

I've been tripping out on the two-headed coins in Prestige, Dark Knight, and another Gary Oldman film Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead.

In that film Gary Oldman flips a coin 93 times in a row with it coming up heads.

October 19, 2013 12:43 pm

Yeah, that raised my eyebrow. Anne in Valley of the Dolls, works for Bellamy & Bellows. Interesting having bellows in there with Tate in the Adjustment get-up. Aleph/Lamed, goad/ox. Lionel Bellamy says to Anne he doesn't like marriage because it's a "harness". Lionel "Lion" Burke, and Helen the Scarlet Woman. Neely O'Hara Scarlet O'Hara from Gone With the Wind.

totally, got the Scarlet O'Hara gone w/ the wind Lilith connection but missed the Bellamy and Bellows somehow, good one

How do you get such good cut-outs for your collages? Do you use photoshop? Do you just zoom in as much as you can and go pixel-by-pixel? Or do you use a magic wand?

October 21, 2013 11:27 am
photoshop. I do it image by image back and forth.

October 22, 2013 2:51 pm
hey do you live in Portland?

yeah

you hang out w/ Steve Willner?

He's too cool for school, but I am meeting with Ezra later today.

he is a great guy

we'll be talking about trying to go to SF but it's doubtful.

well if you can't make it this time, you should make a point to some time. It would be cool to put a video together sometime

Yeah, I would love to. I was thinking about doing something like that recently. I wish the event would've had more advance notice, I woulda got a plane ticket at a good price.

not to far away, I took a greyhound out there before, stayed on my friends land for a few months in an old car bone yard, it was awesome

Maybe we can plan a sync get-together some time after the holidays.

yeah totally, get Justin Morgan, Joe Alexander, and the like to join us

ANd get the Idaho boys, too.

if possible for sure

If Ezra can't drive down this week, I will try to find some Melange to fold space with,

October 22, 2013 7:31 pm

Hey, if I rode a greyhound, would someone be able to pick me up. Your bus people are on strike.

October 22, 2013 9:11 pm
I imagine someone could if you made it to Berkley. I am gonna have a ton of art in my car and am going to 3 separate events in the city in the course of the weekend.

might cost a similar price to flying though

I checked and plane tickets are twice as much now.

whoa

They go up as time goes by. If you book a month or more in advance, they're normal price, but during the last few weeks they go up in price. That's why if it had been planned sooner I woulda got a plane ticket at a good price.

Where would it work best for me to arrive?

SF Greyhound station?

depends on who is picking you up. Berkley is where the event actually is.

I was thinking of arriving Thursday morning.

There's an arrival at 10:45

am

and Sunday there's a 5:45pm departure from SF.

If you want to hang out in Santa Cruz Thursday night and take the bus/train to Berkley Friday morning (not enough room with my art to drive you back) I could prob. pick you up in SF and then go pick up Alan. Little tight but possible, at least if you arrived in SF or San Jose early enough. Otherwise, is there anybody out there?

Aren't the train/bus workers on strike.

October 22, 2013 11:51 pm

What book did you say describes Da'at as a never-ending hall of mirrors? (AR episode 2).

October 28, 2013 12:17 am
came across that in one of the gates of Garden of Pomegranates by RMKh: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moses_ben_Jacob_Cordovero

Moses ben Jacob Cordovero - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Moses ben Jacob Cordovero, (1522–1570) (Hebrew: משה קורדובירו), was a central figure in the historical development of Kabbalah, leader of a mystical school in 16th-century Safed, Israel. He is known by the acronym the Ramak.

Just watched Tim Burton's Batman; I don't know where to start

I've still never seen that, but I reserved Burton's 2nd Batman film at the library. Which I saw in the theatre 20 years ago. Interesting that Nicholson plays The Joker, and DeVito plays The Penguin; both were in Cuckoo's Nest.

October 29, 2013 4:41 pm

Christopher Lloyd & Danny DeVito star in Cuckoo's Nest. They go on to star in Taxi together, with Andy Kaufman, who was played by Jim Carrey/The Riddler.

October 29, 2013 6:40 pm

Not to mention Doc Brown headline of being put into asylum. I'm gonna work on a blog post titled: From the Cukoo's Nest to Arkham Asylum.

November 1, 2013 12:56 am

I just watched The Fearless Vampire Killers, and I don't even know where to start.

November 3, 2013 9:50 pm

Hey, I think I'm pretty much done with the first-draft of a presentation I'm putting together on Crowley's Thoth deck and The Beatles, and was wondering if I could use you as a consultant on it. It is in 'draft mode' on my blog, if you'd like to take a look at it I think I have to add you to my blog personnel. If you're interested, your level of involvement is up to you. If you feel some important things need to be added, let me know. If you want to be a contributor, that is great, too. I will add your name to the presentation as a co-author and you can add your name and/or links to whatever you may want. My goal is to make sure everything is explained clearly, but as briefly as can be. I understand that sometimes, expecially with Tarot/Kabbalah etc, that requires a lot of text, but I'm trying to keep each explanation to 3 or 4 paragraphs. I know some of my explanations are too short, and some important aspects aren't expanded on enough. i.e. how the Tetragrammaton and Elements and Kerubim and Suits all correspond to each other. When you have some free time, let me know, if you wanna take a look! Thanks

November 4, 2013 10:27 am
can you drop me link, kant seem to find it

November 4, 2013 12:00 pm

Here's the link to my blog, but if ya wanna read the drafts I'll need to add you to the personnel with your email address.

You asked what Abracadabra means at one point in Hebrew. "Do as I say"

A friend of mine that is Hebrew and teaches Hebrew says it means "I create it as I speak it" or, at least, that it can mean that - and that it is essentially what YHVH says in the first chapter of Genisis during the act of creation. And that it has the roots for father, son & holy spirit in it. I will add you to my blog, the Thoth post I'm working on is in 'draft mode' and is titled "A Thoth Day's Night". There is more I'm going to add about The Fool, but read through it when you have time & see whatcha think.

Also, I've been wrestling with the format of this post, it will look wonky to you, but it's not quite as wonky when 'previewed'. I may end up starting a new draft and transferring the text & images over.

I don't know if you ever have this problem, but it will for no reason about like 80 spaces between the images and the paragraphs.

*for no reason add like 80 spaces.

November 5, 2013 3:19 pm
used to have that issue, think I resolved it, can't recall how. So I forgot that I use a different email for my blog: iamnotthisbody@yahoo.com

I would prefer to use that one

November 5, 2013 5:05 pm

Ok, I added ya.

November 5, 2013 7:06 pm
love this post A Thoth Days Night or the like. One question, how is the Scarlet Woman attributed to Scorpio, source?

maybe clarify the letter Cheth spelled out = 418, didn't know that. Guess it must be Chet Yud Tav?

At the top of the post I list the 3 books I used. The scarlet woman thing might've been from Snuffin's book, some of his stuff I wondered about.

interesting idea, I just never heard it before

really in joyable findings

Did you think the switches Crowley made were explained adaquately?

Because it is those four cards that make the foundation of the presentation.

very difficult to simplify that, but I think you did a good job. Crowley's 'heroe's journey is somewhat indispensable but requires much study

Cool. I am going to also be adding more about The Fool, tomorrow. There's so much to get into with that card.

you know about the lengthy connections of Johns life to April Fools day?

I've read somebody's thing about that at one point.

was that you?

The character in Adjustment is the flip side of the Fool

yeah, that is blowing my mind.

I found it somewhere and included it in a blog entry

added to the fact that Tate & Polanksi sync with Fool.Adjustment

Yeah, I think I read the original Lennon April Fool's thing awhile ago. Gotta find it again.

'you know were as close as can be man, here's another clue for you all"

Yeah, I get into that in my American Synchro post. ^

Lennon & McCartney were the death resonators of the Beatles. The Latin name for Walrus = Odebenus Rosmarus Divergens, Rosmarus is Norse for horse of the sea

about John and Paul being the Fool and adjustment respectively?

Well, I got into that in the Thoth post.

I get into how they are both death resonators in American Synchro

so close they are the same individual

yeah, all over that s*** tongue emoticon

AMerican Psycho, Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead tie into it like crazy

and Tweedledee & Tweedlesum, who are the two that tell Alice the story of the Walrus and the Carpenter

ah, ok, thanks

oh hmmm, what was the deal w/ the coin in that again? its been awhile, sirius black he is

which is the scene that plays when syncing Alice in Wonderland with MMT

2 head in one coin or something?

They flipped a coin 93 times, and it came up heads each time. At one point one of them wondered if it was a two-headed coin. Gary Oldman was the other, who is in Dark Knight with Two-Faces two-headed coin. Bale also has one in Prestige

perfect

I also found it syncy that in Boys From Brazil, Mengele created 94 Hitler clones. One will become the new Hitler while the other 93 will live normal adult lives

Plus the whole blue eyes Melange/Mengele thing

You know that pic in MMT where paul(?) is at a desk and it says I Was You in front of him? Could be taken as Aiwass you

yeah, most likely what they were doin'

http://lacaraocultadelrock.files.wordpress.com/2011/07/magical-mystery-tour_i-was-you.jpg

I would like to expand on the Beatles/Thoth thing, maybe into a book

and get into the Alchemical syncs with them

A little tricky to do much Beatles investigation that way, surprised we are 'allowed' to even do what were doing in the 1st place. I plan on representing the 22 arcana vesica w/ photoshop soon.

yeah, I wanna see a full presentation of yours on the Tarot vesica

I probably wouldn't be able to use any Beatle images. I wonder about the Thoth images. I noticed the RW cards are in the Sync Book.

they are public domain

Thoth?

kind of

who's gonna come after you, the AA?

I took a class on all this media law stuff years ago, forgot a lot of it.

I don't know. Crowley and/or Harris family might still own the rights to the thoth images

have found it mostly comes down to money. if you are making none it doesn't matter all that much.

but the Beatles and Disney are 'off limits' apparently

yeah, Youtube butchered my videos.

what? they edited them?

or just removed them?

they took down some of the Alice in Wonderland/MMT syncs, and removed some of the audio from the other Beatle ones

I need to start an account on Vimeo for my sync vids

how is a person supposed to investigate this subject if you can't use the media?

lame sauce if you ask me

I know, that is exactly what I said.

As soon as I finish up with the Thoth post, I'm going to start putting something together on Sharon Tate, which you are welcome to contribute to if you want

sure thing, sounds like fun

working 5 days a week now, but I will do what I can

ah, cool. Her carreer was short, but loaded like crazy

was able to be more prolific when I had more free time

Are you guys going a AR this week?

doing

Yeah, I'm mr. freetime right now.

I think so, you need to be a part of that conversation soon

borrow someone else's computer or something

I will try to get something going. I know my mom has two laptops but only uses one. I will ask about that

How much is a low-end laptop that would run skype?

not sure, though I think attachable camera or microphones are pretty reasonable. do you have a PC?

Alan just bought a mic for Jason for like $30

you don't need visual, only audio anyway

It will be good to have Jason on there more often

hopefully that happens

he is an encyclopedia of sync, its crazy

Just listened to the new 42 miutes with Joe

he just moved 3 blocks from me

Yeah, if you ever wonder what the hidden meaning in a movie is, just ask Jason

by 'coincidence'

oh, cool! man SF is the place. I guess there's about 4 or 5 of us in Portland. And WA has ANdras and Schacht

sync heads unite!

After the holidays we need to have a meet up, and have Jason & Doug come

agreed. Sync cabin this year might be in the Seattle area, at least thats the word on the street

Where is W.Morgan? Colorado?

not sure actually. Just stayed at Justin Morgan's place, geeez

that place was a trip

straight outta Boogie Nights

you don't see Steve Willner at all?

I haven't thus far. Elusive he is. I met Ezra twice and Paul Levy

Yeah, I could see that, hard to be like "hey, wanna meet up"

Its weird talking w/ him, feel like I'm talking to a youtube video

so familiar

haha, yeah he has a distinct voice.

Ah, now I remember all those April Fools/Lennon syncs

I think they start at the Tibetan Book of the Dead Psychedelic Experience Pic

I'm gonna get back to work, trying to post this on 11/7 tongue emoticon Great chatting, and thanks for looking over my stuff. Talk again soon

later

November 7, 2013 12:27 pm

That would be awesome to have the Sync cabin in Seattle, the Emerald City.

November 8, 2013 1:20 pm

I'm wondering if there's some connection with Adjustment/Fool and Batman/Joker. The Apollo/Dionysus archetype seems to fit as well. At the end of The Machinist when Bale decides to turn himself in, he is wearing a shirt that reads Justice Brothers.

I have a new working theory on Batman, gonna post about it soon; but yes, I think you are on to something w/ that one

I figured you would after re-watching Burton's Batman. I would love to see a post on that, and the Thoth Vesica. I'd love to see your blog get back on the wagon.

I just meant on Facebook, but I would like to arrange a blog-post in the not Too distant future.

clearly this is the Redbook on Ullman's desk: http://idyllopuspress.com/idyllopus/film/images/shining/sh_in11.jpg

Ah, it's in that shot. I kept trying to look for it in the shot facing Ullman. I just got The Shining from the Library finally. Gonna watch it for like the 10th time, but the 1st time in about 12 years.

I watched it alot when I was 5 tongue emoticon

really difficult to see w/out Blueray or in the theater, I can't make it out on my copy.

since you were 5 eh?; just told Amy you said that and she said the same thing I thought in the same words: "that explains a thing or 2"

Yeah, I lived with my Aunt & Uncle age 5-7, and HBO had just come out, and they would let me watch whatever was on. I spent my formative years watching The Shining, The Wall, Poltergeist, Mommy Dearest. Oh yeah, I told you that a few weeks ago, because when I said, "Ironically enough, the only film that gave me nightmares was Saturday Night Fever." you said, it should because it's disco.

November 9, 2013 1:47 am

I tried playing Magical Mystery Tour over Fearless Vampire Killers, Jessie Robbins starrs in both. Pretty good sync, especially when the scene in which Tate gets bitten by the Vampire begins when 'Strawberry Fields Forever' begins. In fact, the very second he bites her neck is right when Lennon first says, "Let me take you down..." I started the album at the end of the opening credits when it says Directed by Roman Polanski.

November 9, 2013 11:01 am
nice

November 9, 2013 2:27 pm

What scene plays during '1979'?

song begins right as it cuts to daylight picking berries and it 'snows' in the sunshine and continues.

it stops immediately before Melancholia is shown up close for the 1st time before the end of Part 1: Justine

ahh. I'm wondering if there's a Fool/Adjustment connection in the film. Claire means clear, bright. Wonder if it's a reference to bright morning star/Lucifer. Bringing to mind messiah/serpent equal Gematria. Also Apollo/Dionysus. "You want to sit on the porch and drink a glass of wine? I think that's a shitty idea."

totally see that Claire=Fool, Justine=Adjustment connection. What I have been mainly focused on is Justine as the World/Universe (Malkuth/Shekinah) and Claire as the World's Saturnian flip side (the Handmaiden/Lady Babylon etc.). ("we only come out at night") These then could be seen as the two faces on the Temperance/Art card culminating into the alchemical marriage/dissolution. Or something like that.

November 9, 2013 4:41 pm

Yeah, plus Claire's son is named Leo, the Beast.

November 12, 2013 12:58 am

I could clearly see the Red Book on The Shining dvd I got at the library. I wonder what the significance is of the Carl Yastrzemski bat.

November 12, 2013 9:54 am
?As one of the top players of his era, he was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1989, his first year of eligibility, with the support of 94% of voters. Notably, this makes him one of the few Hall of Famers to directly succeed another Hall of Famer at the same position. For his entire career with the Red Sox, he wore uniform number 8. The Red Sox retired this number on August 6, 1989 after Yastrzemski was elected to the Hall of Fame. In 1999, Yastrzemski ranked number 72 on The Sporting News' list of the 100 Greatest Baseball Players.

November 14, 2013 11:08 am
Yes, America is Scorpio. This is said in Manly P Hall's the Secret Destiny of America

November 14, 2013 12:44 pm

Wonder if the Batman logo syncs at all with that. (Also bearing in mind Joe's awesome video on Batman, and the further discussion on the ka & ba which is a head with wings).

noticed that in Durer's Melancholia 1 it is a bat that hold up the sign Melancholia 1

I'm not following what you're gettin' at in that thread.

re: night skies etc.

Out of the single story 'Night Skies' came Poltergeist and E.T. which came out w/in a week of each other and happen to be the Exact same length. Poltergeist is meant to be an extra terrestrial

ahh, awesome.

What was the significance of the name Nemo? It resonated with No Man?

November 16, 2013 2:14 am
Alan will give you that one better than I will. BTW just experimented, E.T. and Poltergeist are the same length time... to the second.

I looked it up, its Latin for 'no-man'. I can only imagine ET & Poltergiest sync up somehow

Throw Close Encounters in there, too.

leave both volumes up. I dare you

I always do my syncs with both volumes up, I don't know what you guys are talking about tongue emoticon Or at least with the subtitles on.

I put the stereo & tv at different ends of the room and just sit in the middle or go up to which ever one I need to hear the audio better on .

The dialogue helps land the syncs

well w/ albums I leave the volume down. These have symphonic resonance, it doesn't interfere w/ the flow as far as I'm concerned, its perfect

I watch them on the same screen w/ my computer or w/ my computer hooked up to my TV

If I don't have either (which happens often) I open two Youtube windows. Oh I forgot to post about The Immortal Story and 2 Virgins.

did you use the version of 2 virgins where John says "how long do we have to keep doing this?"

I'm not sure, there were 2 versions on Youtube and I used the one that was longer. The shorter one said it had a part edited out of it.

I hadn't heard the ablum before. Not familiar with it.

weird as helll

I can only imagine it with Anti-Christ, which I haven't seen. The Immortal Story really brings to mind your spiels on creating an elemental.

trust me on Charlotte Gainsbourg IRM, that is in my top 'discoveries' ever. Absolutely blew me away

I bet. Just on paper, it makes sense. Also, The Immortal Story is about two virgins getting it on. Orson Welles' character wants a fictional story to become a real story.

Jason hit the nail on the head, comparing it to the Thoth Lovers card, with Welles as the Hermit.

interesting. I have yet to see the immortal story in the 1st place

Ezra linked it in his post at The Synk. It's only 55 mins.

french version is different

was hoping it would be the same length as unfinished music 1 and 2

I didn't know of the different versions

November 17, 2013 3:28 pm

Did you know Lindsay Lohan starred as Dakota Moss in 'I Know Who Killed Me' which came out the same year as Chapter 27, in which she plays Jude.

might not like what one finds there

I Know Who Killed Me 2007 (Full Movie)
(by request) A young girl who was missing reappears, but she claims to be someone else entirely. still taking request but no promises

I'm also gonna watch Lonely Hearts, in which Jared Leto plays the murderer. (He was Paul, the murder victim in American Psycho)

watch them simultaneously

Which begs the question, does Chapter 27 sync with I Know Who Killed me

great minds think alike

I Know Who Killed Me and Lonely Hearts are 3 minutes different, who knows how close they actually are length wise w/ credits

dang...

the sundance version of Chapter 27 would have been the same length as The Wizard of Oz. They removed 16 minutes; prob can't that

Holy cow, I Know Who Killed me was so freakin' loaded... Have you seen it? I'm not sure where to start, but her boyfriend in the movie is named Jerrod. Her best friend looks almost exactly like Sharon Tate (actress Jessica Rose). Their HS mascot is the Owls (think Twin Peaks) and there are owls all over the movie. But most of all, the film is all about the red & the blue. Lohan plays identical twins (just like in Parent Trap) and one is blue themed and the other is red themed. Which is packed with Tree of Life resonators, but add that to the fact that the murderer looks exactly like the guy that plays Agent Smith in The Matrix. The red/blue theme is entertwined with the other theme of two halves/two souls etc. Trippy. A great movie for sync-heads.

November 18, 2013 9:38 pm

November 19, 2013 8:13 am
I have actually, did a couple different timing attempts as I recall. I have also watched FMJ w/ The Wall, The Final Cut, Wish You Were Here and something newer/not Pink Floyd that I can't recall at the moment.

Wow, just watched Chapter 27 & IKWKM simultaneously. Lots of uncanny stuff; the really big one was Dakota figures out who the murderer is and says, "I know who killed me" the very moment Chapman meets Lennon! (The Youtube versions were 24 minutes different, so I started Ch. 27 at the 24 minute mark of IKWKM. Would be interesting to see the original full version of Ch. 27 w/it.)

November 22, 2013 5:53 pm
prob impossible to find that original version... But that is an awesome experiment.

November 26, 2013 3:48 pm

Ha, a friend of mine just watched Rosemary's Baby/White Album and was blown away.

November 26, 2013 5:09 pm
as well they should be, it is mind blowing. I have been following the white album w/ Revolver and have been very pleased w/ the result. It leaves room for a final track, need to experiment further

November 26, 2013 6:47 pm

I wanted to experiment with what to follow White Album up with, but had to return the dvd to the library. I shoulda bought if for $4 when it was on sale during halloween.

November 28, 2013 5:58 pm

He said he tried starting White Album at the first chime and said this: "It's when you get to Cry Baby Cry / Take Me Home / Revolution #9 that the [first chime] cue makes sense. That little McCartney song starts right at the funeral scene. When Rosemary gets the book from Hutch (after his death) and she's paging through it, she gets to the picture of the head witch (who we also see at her impregnation - Steven Marcato) and as soon as his picture shows up, you hear that infant in Revolution #9 come in. It's so well placed it's creepy. Revolution #9 seems like ... a key. The mention of "THE DEVIL'S PEPPER" in the book gets all weird. So when not knowing what to follow with when "THE BEATLES" ends with "Goodnight" .... maybe you're supposed to go Pepper." I then told him you tried Revolver, and I assumed it was because Rosemary's Baby takes place in '66.

November 28, 2013 7:19 pm

what is known as Charles Manson's White Album is really just LIE followed by the Manson Family Sings. When LIE ends if you play the 1st track off TMFS then Manson ends right at the credits at the end; in a sense it makes LIE have 15 songs http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XMTAwODU1Mjgw.html

If Lolita was released in 1962, it's safe to assume the story begins in 1962. 4 years later Lolita is pregnant, putting the child's birth in 1966, year 0. In Asia the letters R and L are ambiguous. Humbert calls Lolita Lo, Guy calls Rosemary Ro. I'm tellin' ya, Lo's baby is Ro's baby. Lo types a letter to Humbert dated March 19th. A week later he arrives and she says she is due in 3 months. Putting the birth in late-June - 6/66. Same as Rosemary Woodhouse. Humbert, the British invasion, killing the older generation and sleeping with the Baby Boomers, creatine a starr/keith Moonchild. It is the Beale kid that hits Lo’s mom with a car. Bea(t)le. Shelly Winters gets hit by a Beetle in The Great Gatsby (1949). Mia farrow was in the 1972 Great Gatsby. First shot in scene with pregnant Lolita is of the city she lives in, which looks a lot like the opening shot to Ro's Baby, with Dakota house. The B-side to Sue Lyon's single from Lolita is "Turn off the Moon"... child? Peter Sellers adopts Ringo in The Magic Christian. He covers A Hard Day's Night in the Style of Laurence Olivier's Richard III. Olivier was in Boys From Brazil with James Mason/Humbert. Polanski was also in Magic Christian. Terry Southern wrote Magic Christian and co-wrote Lolita with Kubrick. Southern is on Sgt. Pepper cover. Sue Lyon dated Donovan who went to India with Mia & the Beatles. Lyon was in Tony Rome with Sinatra. (Rome, Polanski?)

Peter Sellers' character in The Magic Christian is named Guy. Same as Ro's husband. The full name is Guy Grand. 77. Ringo's birthday is 7/7 Freud's Uncanny sure made a lot of things come together. And yeah, I don't know what to make of all those organizations being that organized. And it's hard sometimes to know if the info we have is accurate or not.

Santa will bring it to ya. In Freud's Uncanny, he talks about castration fear. Jack Kills Dick, Nick the painist vanishes under mysterious circumstances, Alex's snake dies...

Jodorowsky's obsession w/ it is more overt. I think someone gets castrated in every one.

I still gotta see HM all the way through. And about the organizations thing. I heard years ago, a comedian or something, was talking about how it's the gvmnt. that comes up with all the conspiracy theories, just to make people think they're actually smart enough to pull things like that off.

December 13, 2013 12:28 am

Freud mentions castration fear in tandem with fear of losing one's eyes. ALex also has the eyes on his cuffs.

December 18, 2013 2:11 pm

Yeah, refreshing. I would even say Dr. Strangelove portrays a false flag of sorts. I have a LeClairian theory that Dr. Strangelove was somehow part of Ripper's descent into madness. Strangelove wanted to stage a nuclear attack just for the excuse of being able to create underground bunkers with which to breed with young women in. Ripper was a conspiracy theorist, and was teetering on the edge of madness. Something pushed him over the edge, causing him to command the attack plan. I wonder if there was some sort of triggering mechanism or something. Maybe something about the precious bodily fluids.

sounds vaguely familiar, let me think on that a bit'

January 7, 2014 10:30 pm

Did you get The Red Book for Christmas? It's got everything, man. Just quickly, I thought I'd mention he talks about the "Orphic figure of Phanes, the 'Shining One'. On the next page he talks about being in an audience watching himself acting in a play, then stepping out of the scene and reuniting with himself in the audience. There are so, so, so many more commonalities to Kubrick motifs in there. I'm about 2/3 done w/it so far. It should be re-named "Everything you wanted to know about Kubrick films".

Did you order a code redbook!? Just started reading from my own copy today (reader's edition); read from it randomly via my teacher's copy a few times. Couldn't agree more on the Kubrick point.

so its actually just the Manson Family Sings. It actually really works w/ Lie and the 1st track off MFS but this is the one to watch.

Do you have a brief description for it? Is there a particular way you want it described?

yes, let me get back to you on that

February 9, 2014 11:14 pm
well you can simply say its The White Album followed by The Family Sings. It was more a matter of being accurate as the album 'Lie' which is part of Manson's 'white album' is not included in this version. this is a good image to include, the 'family' signed the Beatles White Album

I could do these things too. next time instead of suggesting you add something I'll just add it and if for what ever reason you don't want it there you can remove it.

No problem. Wow, that's incredible!

Manson began recording his album on 9/11 Did you know that's also the day the Beatles began filming Magical Mystery Tour.

Truthful I call him who goes into godless deserts, having broken his revering heart. In the yellow sands, burned by the sun, he squints thirstily at the islands abounding in wells, where living things rest under dark trees. yet his thirst does not persuade him to become like these, dwelling in comfort; for where there are oases there are also idols. Hungry, violent, lonely, godless: thus the lion-will want itself. Free from the happiness of slaves, redeemed from gods and adorations, fearless and fear inspiring, great and lonely :such is the will of the truthful. Thus Spoke Zarathustra Friedrich Nietzche

I had written down some notes, but can't find them.

Hey, would you still be up for having me come down & hang out some time. Perhaps in April or May? It'd be fun to work on a project, or brainstorm stuff, or just watch film/album sync-ups. And Joe, too.

of course, just let me know when

I think anytime would probably work for me. Though I want to get cheap plane tickets far enough in advance, so anytime 6+ weeks from now. I would just hate to go during a week when you're gonna be crazy busy or something. Do you know of any busy weeks down the line?

amy an i will be in hawaii march 25 - april 6th so that is out and as for my week i generally only really have to work Mon. Thurs. and Fri. and Thurs. is more of a 1/2 day. You might enjoy a day or two just exploring Santa Cruz on your own any way, its a cool place.

That was sent at 11:11 Alright, I'll look around at flights in mid-April and get back to ya later. I was in Santa Cruz during New Years weekend of Y2K.

i will still have to go to work on certain days but i will be available much of the time

I'm sure you'll have plenty of books I'll wanna read to keep me busy when you're at work. And I'll do some exploring around town, too.

it will be fine, we live close to the beach and downtown. 20 minute walk to either

February 22, 2014 3:12 pm

What hours do you work on Friday? Or would it be easier for me to come on Thursday, since you work a half day?

Tues Wed Sat or Sun would be ideal but if you arrived early on a Thurs, that would be better than Fri. as Fri. is noon - evening, Thurs is 4-8ish

Ok. How about Saturday April 19th to Sunday April 27th. There's a good price on one that arrives at 9:30pm on the 19th. Do you know as of now if you'll be free then?

sure, that works

February 22, 2014 7:52 pm

I'm finding even cheaper flights in March. I know you're leaving the 25th. How would Saturday March 15th to Sunday March 23rd work?

February 22, 2014 10:31 pm
Well we leave the 25th but we will need a few days before we leave to organize ourselves. If you could find one sooner yes.

February 23, 2014 11:42 am

Alright, how about Tuesday April 15th to Wed. April 23rd. With a 9:30pm arrival.

that is fine

February 23, 2014 4:21 pm

Alright, I'ma book those, then.

February 24, 2014 1:36 pm

Booked and confirmed. Tuesday, April 15th at 9:30pm at San Jose airport. Leaving Wednesday, April 23rd at 3:30pm San Jose. Looking forward to it.

March 9, 2014 5:22 pm

One thing I've been wanting to try is playing films with classical pieces, like symphonies. Especially with Kubrick films. Beethoven's 9th with ACO, for instance. The trouble would be figuring out which version. Jack Parsons said he played Prokofiev's 2nd Violin Concerto while conducting the Babalon Working, wonder if that syncs with Pleasure Dome, at all. Btw, I watched Any Other Way today, that was great.

March 11, 2014 4:26 pm

I've also been trying to figure out what might sync with George Harrison's triple album All Things Must Pass, and Led Zeppelin's double album Physical Graffiti. American Graffiti?

March 11, 2014 7:09 pm
I watched All things must pass w/ the holy mountain. Interesting, but not too profound

With George being such good friends with Monty Python, even producing and having a Cameo in The Life of Brian, it seems a natural match. Haven't tried it yet, though.

yeah, thought about trying it again w/ a different timing, but usually things only match symbolically.

Oh yeah, he was originally going to play the lead role.

in Holy Mountain.

I'm pretty easy-going when it comes to meeting new people. Though I'm sure I'm oblivious to how awkward I am. Also, I have the advantage of already 'feeling like I know you' from listening to AR so much.

yeah, I'm aware each time I say something 'new' i've prob. mentioned it on AR. Leaves little room for a tofu tuna (how am i not myself) story.

Haha. No, it's one thing hear something coming out of a computer speaker, but much more significant and personalized when it's in person.

Would you be able to send me a jpg (or which ever) of the frame-grab of Rosemary saying "This is no dream, this is really happening" with the subtitles, like your thumbnail for Feast of the Immaculate Conception.

Thanks. I'm gonna use it on my blog post on Vanilla Skies Wide Shut, which I hope to finish tomorrow.

I also have a question which might be more easily answered on the phone. Regarding the Tree of Life being folded into a hexagram. If you have a few minutes tonight or tomorrow, let me know. Thanks.

Have you seen O Lucky Man! (1973) starring Malcom McDowell? I have a copy I can bring if you haven't. It's pretty amazing.

April 9, 2014 6:41 pm
saw part of it a number of years ago, I'm down.

you mind if i dial you?

ok

April 12, 2014 4:14 pm

If you want to watch O Lucky Man before I get there, go ahead. I don't know if I'll be able to bring it with me. It's from the library and has those sensors on it that beep if you go through the scanners without checking it out. If you do watch it, be sure to watch 'If...' first. You need to see that to understand the ending of OLM. (If you haven't already).

IF is my next venture

They're both on Youtube, but I believe one video for OLM got deleted because it takes place in a strip club.

Do you have 4 Cd players? And, have you heard the Flaming Lips' 4-disc album Zaireeka? They're all meant to be played simultaneously. I could bring dat.

Hey, I enjoyed your Thoth vesica pisces segment on Synchronize. I'd been wanting to hear that for months. I think I would like to make a video for it, is that something you'd be ok with?

thank you, sure, if you'd like. It would be nice to see what i'm speaking to visually represented

April 25, 2014 12:19 pm

I watched Naked Lunch with Incesticide, the timing was great about halfway through the album. The whole movie and the album all go together too perfectly, but the correspondence of what's taking place on screen and when the particular songs occur were way off after the first 30 minutes. I'm wondering if a re-arrangement of the song order is in order. Almost like a cut-up technique. Something that could only be permissible in a film version of a Burroughs novel.

And thanks. It'll probably be a few weeks before I finish the Thoth video.

interesting, "how random is random?" -Bill Burroughs

April 26, 2014 11:33 am

There's also the songs on Nevermind with "He's the one who likes to shoot his gun" and "I swear that I don't have a gun." "She should've been a son" goes great with the Fadela who is really a man, and "Polly wants a cracker" goes great with the parrot scene.

I recall a short film that shows Burroughs w/ his pet parrot

Also the song Mexican Seafood goes great when Fadela is cooking that giant lobster.

Also, when Bill meets the new Joan, her hair is curly and put up. Hairspray Queen goes well there.

April 26, 2014 1:01 pm

Do you still have the audio file for your Thoth vesica piscis presentation? I can't download it from the AR show. If so, could you email it to (censored) Thanks.

do you already have access to the always record dropbox?

I sent it to your e mail, see if that worked

Thanks. I don't have access to the AR dropbox that I know of.

if it sent ok don't worry about that unless you need it in the future

the file you sent is working, thanks.

cool

April 27, 2014 4:15 pm

I know you haven't seen it yet, but that film I was telling you about, Blow-Up (1966), goes perfectly with Revolver (1966). Especially in terms of what's happening on screen each time the songs come back around. The film is essentially 3 recurrences of the same sequence in 35 minute cycles, the exact length of Revolver. Lots of other big syncs in it, as well.

nice, i will try and check that out soon

Interesting that Mezzanine has a beetle on the cover. As I was watching Pi there was a beetle in my ceiling light fixture, and I had to keep staring into the light to see it so I could catch it. "My mother told me not to stare into the sun, so at age 6 I did..."

What kind of title did you have in mind for the lust/vesica video? I was thinking something like Lust/Strength and the Thoth Vesica Piscis arrangment. ALso, for the credits, do you want me to use your real name or an alias?

May 6, 2014 7:11 pm

^ I was wondering on the spelling for Edra and Tekonin(?) in the passage from Ramak. "Certainly the eyes have one eye which is higher than they eyes of the world. It does not close, and it is the Kether. In the Edra it is called “the regulator of all”, and it emanates mercy through all the eyes of the lower worlds. In the Tekonin it is taken to be the Malkuth, in that she combines all the colors that have been mentioned. She is called Ayin, Eye, the water that does not cease."

May 7, 2014 8:38 pm
you can say in the Tikkunei Zohar, not sure on the Edra, let me get back to you. As to the above, that title sounds great, what ever you think is best. David Plate/ MK Ultrasound works. Thank you.

May 8, 2014 12:18 pm

I've been trying to google what Edra could be. Ironically, in Hebrew it means Force.

"Five persons had died — Miss Tate, Sebring, heiress Abigail Folger, 37-year-old Voityck Frokowski and Steve Parent, 18. Using psychometrics — touching objects to resurrect events associated with them — Hurkos said he walked from room to room “touching everything, the couch and even the bed she slept in.” He sat on the floor of the living room for 20 minutes to get a “mental picture.” It appeared. Hurkos said he could envision a bizarre quiz game in which the contestants were asked the last time they had sexual relations. The person admitting the longest lapse was hung from an overhead beam and beaten. Suddenly, Hurkos said, someone on a bad LSD trip saw “a vision of the devil” and went berserk — firing shots to begin an orgiastic murder that ended with knives, involving three killers and five victims. Hurkos said the victims were in a drugged stupor and could not resist. Hurkos said he found a pair of horn-rimmed glasses that belonged to one of the killers. He said he saw other scenes, other parties — and got a mental picture of two important pieces of evidence that were in the hands of an entertainer who was not at Miss Tate’s last party but had attended others."

“All I remembered about Sebring was that he had once given me a $25 haircut and charged me $50,” Hurkos said. He went to Miss Tate’s home and asked police to be locked up in the house alone. It was littered with dead leaves, bloody underthings and numerous objects that indicated an “Egyptian-style orgy.”

Egyptian Orgy eh

Ah, it was War Of The Roses that I asked, what was the movie that your dad would say, "That's totally something you would do" to your mom.

Yeah, I seem to remember him mentioned in Helter Skelter.

May 8, 2014 6:53 pm

I haven't seen The Simpsons in like 7 years, and watched one today, and in it there was a building called the McMahon & Tate building.

that is the agency in Bewitched

its an (m)ad agency

I was also remembering all the sudden a few days ago, my friends & I had this inside joke about 15 years ago, based on this huge body-builder guy that was moshing at a show, where nobody was moshing, and he took his shirt off and had the name TATE tattooed across his shoulder blades in that barbed-wirey looking font.

Really? (bewitched) weird.

means something in Hebrew, can't recall

MaTaT(e)

MeTat(e) I mean

Well, that is weird. Remember McMahon was Johnny Carson's sidekick. who would always say Here's Johnny!

oh shit

I used to watch Bewitched, I forgot about that.

you may have already won

I'm almost done with the video, I just need to find a couple images. You say Leo is the center of the Zodiac, I can't find anything that depicts that. Do you have anything along those lines?

in that Leo is associated w/ the Sun

ah, got it then.

wow, she was really young, there.

actually it might be represented in the Book of Thoth

let me check

I just returned my copy to the library.

I was gonna use this. It's amazingly hard to find good images of the Zodiac online. THey're all either too new agey, or just really shitty drawings.

50/50 Overlaying the sun with it's symbol in the center would work

yeah, could have phrased that differently. Leo is communicated as such in Alice Bailey's book on Hercules

Also, the sacred sacral center at the base of the spine. All I can think of, and find, is this. But there's gotta be something better.

There's also the Tree superimposed over the body in the Yoga pose.

yeah see in regard to Tantra

http://www.heruraha.net/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=479&start=125

can't recall just what i said, was i speaking about Mars?

I've been googling Tantra stuff. Again, mostly crappy drawings. Ah, those Zodiacs are good. just a sec on the sacral center.

I know, there is a drawing Crowley did of the Kundalini in relation to the Tree of Life

not the drawing i'm looking for but its this principle

http://neurometaphysics.files.wordpress.com/2011/08/chakra.jpg

neurometaphysics.files.wordpress.com
neurometaphysics.files.wordpress.com

You say the Scarlet Harlot's Challis is the sacred sacral center at the base of the spine and resonates with the Vesica, itself. Which is the end of the part about Crowley's meaning of the use of the word Lust.

and you talk about Kundalini in there, too

oh yeah, he says that. if its not in the Book of Thoth then it should be in the Vision and the Voice

I wish you could see what I got so far. Even got clips of Metroplis, Close Encounters and Pi in there.

He calls the Tower: WAR... forgot about that

Also, do you know of any images of the Traditional planetary correspondences to the Tree?

doubt that is available. Its amazing there are Alchemical drawings in existence from before the 17th century

more than anything it would be nice to have a nice photo of the arrangement itself to communicate the points

This is what I use in the video. When you're first explaining the arrangement it gets layed out in sequential order.

^Ah, I was wondering if that was it.

can't seem to find any that are larger than this but there's taht

I thought maybe the Rimonim one was a something more of a commentary.

It's also called Orchard of Pom.

that is hebrew for Orchard of Pom

ah, haha

I'm pretty much done with the video, just gotta put credits at the end. It should be up and around tomorrow.

If you spell Beatles with a Z, it equals 441, the value of AMT. BATLZ, Beth, Aleph, Tav, Lamed, Zayin. Lennon had the dream of a man on a flaming pie (I theorize it's Metatron (Pi)) telling him to name his band Beatles with an A; giving the name the life breath.

Wait, no, that equals 440. Though, if you spell it BAATLZ, it is 441.

just watched ACO w/ Supertramp's Crime of the Century and 'Crisis, what Crisis?' After watching it w/ so many combinations I noticed that the moment where Alex knocks his walking stick on the floor in front of the 2001: ASO record might be a good place to start Crime of the Century. Then I played Crisis What Crisis at the point where a tall building is demolished in the footage he is forced to watch. Tried Breakfast in America from that point as well though Crisis What Crisis (their album following Crime of the Century) worked best. This was awesome, but the real trippy part for me was that I did not even realize that these 2 points happening to be playing the same song which happens to be the version of "the 9th" being represented in the film while on top of this these 2 points happen to be right before Ode to Joy starts in said song. I just had my mind totally blown.

I can only imagine those albums syncing with ACO. You know how you mention in Burton's Batman that say he sleeps upside down and drinks blood? In the commentary Burton emphasizes that his Batman strives to create that image in the people's minds, he wants people to think he's a vampire. And he said that Vampires were an influence in his approach.

think it should be started right after the building is demolished in the Nazi footage right as the SS are kicking in a door.

then both albums would begin at the same part of what is called in the film the 9th

June 11, 2014 7:00 pm

What album starts it all? Ludwig Van's 9th is also used to pacify the tiger in Help! The main character in a comic I did for years was named Rudy.

Oh, and Anton plays Ludwig Van's 9th on Tony's flute, after Dr. Parnassus pretends to read his mind with that helmet thingy

Now, listen to Beethovens' 9th "Ode to Joy" then listen to Nowhere Man, If I Needed Someone, Maxwell's Silver Hammer, Her Majesty, And Your Bird Can Sing, and the Rolling Stones' Paint It Black.

I don't know. All I really know is that if you start Crime of the Century at "I ordered this" in the record store it s totally unbelievable. Currently I am trying to pin down Breakfast in America. after many attempts I think i found its general vicinity; in the Nazi film when there is a close up of a marching man Heiling, seems to be the point. Building should collapse when the music 'kicks in'

building collapse confused_rev emoticon

there is a demolition in the film

And weren't you saying at one point how similar it is when Alex taps his cane to the red cloak guy in EWS tapping his staff.

yes

I was referring to the buildings collapsing on 9/11 and the BiA cover tongue emoticon

exactly, its really a something

June 12, 2014 12:47 pm

I took my mic back. I needed the dough, and I'm not cut out for early morning live conversations. Maybe if I get a steady income at some point, I'll get another one. Also, I woke up at 12:30.

June 13, 2014 12:25 pm

I was reading in The Bahir chapter 110, where they equate the splitting of the Sea to the splitting open of Malkuth (like a vagina) so that is can unite with Tiphareth. They also go off on the 72 letter name from Exodus. What I felt they were also trying to communicate was splitting out of Malkuth as in breaking out of the perceptions of form, etc. Sorta like the Matrix, can't explain it. Just wondering if you'd taken note of that before.

June 13, 2014 7:35 pm
I am not as familiar w/ the Bahir's interpretations but that is very resonant w/ my understanding

June 15, 2014 4:24 pm

I just read that Crowley finished his Abramelin Working on Oct. 9th 1906. Oct. 9th being John & Sean Lennon's birthday.

June 15, 2014 6:05 pm
word. Guardian Angel invocation (so to speak).

He Contacted Choronzon on Dec. 6th 1909, 60 years before Altamont. Ringo transposed into Hebrew, Resh, Yod, Nun, Gimel, Ayin = 333 Choronzon = 333 in Crowley's spelling. He contacted Choronzon in the 10th Aethyr which is The Great Abyss, and is named ZAX. Ringo's first child is named Zak.

well that is fitting

June 21, 2014 4:18 pm
oh man, going nuts... just re encoded the 'we all shine on' vid due to it being a second off and reuploaded it after making it it into an mp4 and it turned out i uploaded the old vid by mistake. Stayed up all night for a 1 second correction (plus threw in a few of the sounds from the film) only to realize i have to go through the process again. What goes on for 'the work.' Anyways i need to get it right if Sean is gonna viddey it someday

June 21, 2014 6:11 pm

Sounds like something I would do.

June 23, 2014 12:51 pm

The links to We All Shine On aren't working.

June 23, 2014 7:43 pm
I know, i re-edited the header, the new version is up and linked in the comments

Ah. The link you put to the new video this morning was a link to the old video.

I was also thinking, it's interesting that LaBianca means White....

whoa. i look forward to getting a disc of this to Sean at some point

I can't believe when I met him he talked to me about his grandma Julia. That was too much.

I bet he'd like it.

dude, shits crazy, happen to be studying the GLGL (circle) w/ Borukh right now relating reincarnation/soul transmigration to the spheroth

Whoa. I'm reading about GLGL in the Sefer Yetzirah right now. The Wall. Also The Cycle.

wow

When describing the meditation used by ancient rabbis, Kaplan says they imagined themselves floating in water, completely surrounded by black walls. Which reminds me of sensory deprivation chambers. Particularly the one in Altered States. Which we first see on screen at Exactly the 42 minute mark. RIght as he is also saying Mason's name for the first time. Their deprivation chamber is a black cube. Teffilin holds the 42-letter name....

HURT

"i hurt myself today..."

NOTHING records

Oh wait, the Sefer Yetzirah says "In a circle, like a wall, with 231 gates." not that GLGL is a wall. But the way they describe it reminds me of Stonehenge.

Stones erected in a circle with a ceileing

sealing

Have you read much on Goetic magic & all that Qaballah Tree of Knowledge ascension? I'm reading that the highest grade to achieve, when one is at the throne of Lucifer (Lucy), is the Black Diamond, or, Adamas Ater. Lucy in the sky with black diamonds.

not much. most of the Crowley stuff i've avoided speaks to that but i'm sure its interesting

June 24, 2014 11:39 am

Now I know why you're so interested in the cube unfolding into the cross with the 14 points and the hand with 14 joints and YD = 14.... In the Sefer Yetzirah it likens an open hand outstretched to a PLATE.

June 25, 2014 12:57 pm

So if you add up the Hebrew letters that are used to spell the 10 Sephiroth, there are 42?

June 25, 2014 6:18 pm
never heard that...

June 25, 2014 7:24 pm

Gotta love the Sefer Yetzirah.

Wait, no, it was the book on the Qliphoth I've been reading.

Regarding the significant dates of recordings & releasings of Beatles/Beach Boys/Manson etc. Is it planned or coincidence?

I've been learning that Brian Wilson was very particular about those things. He had astrologers charting dates and times for him to determine the best times for those things.

One example, he sat on the Heroes & Villains single for months, waiting for "the time to be right" for it's release. One day his astrologer came and told him today was the day, and he personally delivered the record to the local radio station.

I finished reading Kybalion, thanks for giving me a copy. And now I'm about halfway through The Birth of Tragedy. Thanks for the recommendation.

Ha, and as I type this, I'm hearing the Rolling Stones "Star Star" for the first time. The line "You're a star fucker" brings to mind your drawings for the band Starfucker. full circle.

Birth of Tragedy, such an incredible read. I love that book so much.

I heard Brielle and her husband (the pregnant woman who went up during Radio 8 Ball) telling Andras on Sunday that while her husband was in prison, they read the Sync Book together, and it changed his perspective on things. It essentially saved their marriage and inspired them to have a baby. That baby is the Sync Book Starchild.

far out. Her presence was blowing my mind.

So, start Crime of the Century at the cane tap, then when it ends start BiA, which is when a building falls; do I have that right?

Crime of the Century starts immediately after the line I ordered this (mid sentence) before 2 weeks ago. BiA is actually closer to when the bombs drop from the plane in the Nazi film as I recall

I just visited the future, and here's the book. Actaully this is just volume 1 of a 12 volume set. Yeah, I want to make vids of Borukh's recordings. Those are the best talks on Kabbalah I've ever heard.

December 15, 2014 7:51 pm

Hey, do you know of any old-school Kabbalah Tree of Life images in books that Borukh may have? The only ones you can find on the internet are new Golden Dawn ones, etc. It'd be cool to have an authentic older one in the videos. If so, perhaps Borukh will let you scan it and send it to me? If not, no prob. Thanks!

Landscapes from Israel?
Jewish artwork or instruments?
pages from Kabbalah books?

you can call him anytime after his 3pm i would say... I doubt he would like that idea but yes, it is quite funny

December 21, 2014 7:47 pm

December 21, 2014 11:33 pm

I won't need to call him right away. Just at some point. I just watched Polanski's film Ghost Writer. And there is a character named Paul Emmett. (think AMT and McCartney). He is a CIA agent/handler of the British Prime Minister. And when Ewan MacGregor finds this out, the man who tells him says, "So, he got by with a little help from his friends."

Paul Emmett was played by the guy who played Dr. Weizniak in Eternal Sunshine, and Carmine Faclone in Nolan's Batman trilogy.

Me: Also on December 8th, 1976, The Eagles release their album Hotel California. The title track, when played backwards, seems to most to say, "John Lennon by himself." This happens at the 2:37 mark when counting from the end. Forwards, the line is, "Last thing I remember, I was running for the door." Which describes Lennon's last moments.

my friend WILL: John Lennon is actually in Hotel California 3 times (not sure if I discovered it but I know I'd never heard of it when I found it) but when I laid Revolution #9 on top of it and heard the syncs at various points, especially John's wounded sound syncing with "last thing I remember I was running for the door", I couldn't sleep for a week. January 1947 – Thomas Mann finishes the manuscript to Dr. Faustus, exactly 20 years before the Beatles finish the Lyrics to Sgt. Pepper.

By August 1919 Adrian has completed the sketch of Apocalypsis.

Mann published his own account of the genesis of the novel in 1949.[5] The novel's title and themes are inseparable in German literature from its highest dramatical expression in the Faust I and Faust II of the poet Goethe, and declares Mann's intention to address his subject in the light of that profound, authentic exploration and depiction of the German character. Yet the relationship is indirect, the Faustian aspect of Leverkühn's character being paralleled in the abnormal circumstances surrounding Nazism. Helen Lowe-Porter, the novel's first English translator, wrote of its themes, 'Readers of Faustus will and must be involved, with shudders, in all three strands of the book: the German scene from within, and its broader, its universal origins; the depiction of an art not German alone but vital to our whole civilization; music as one instance of the arts and the state in which the arts find themselves today [sc. 1949]; and, finally, the invocation of the daemonic.'

The trajectory of Leverkühn's career is modeled partly upon the life of Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900). From his supposed contraction of syphilis to his complete mental collapse in 1889 proclaiming the Anti-Christ, and his death in 1900, Nietzsche's life presents a celebrated example imitated in Leverkühn. (The illnesses of Delius and Wolf also resonate, as does the death of Mahler's child after he had tempted fate (as Alma Mahler thought) by setting the Kindertotenlieder.) Nieztsche's 1871 work The Birth of Tragedy from the Spirit of Music, presents the theme that the evolution of Art is bound up with the duality of the Apollonian and Dionysian Hellenic impulses,[7] which the novel illuminates. Perhaps the 'serene' Zeitblom and the tragical Leverkuhn personify such a duality between impulses towards reasoned, contemplative progress, and those toward passion and tragic destiny, within character or creativity in the context of German society. [8] Mann wrote, "Zeitblom is a parody of myself. Adrian's mood is closer to my own than one might – and ought to – think."

Sure, go ahead. I was going to post it on Super Bowl Sunday, but chickened out. I don't know what I'm getting myself into. A bunch of bad things started happening to me in the days leading up to it tongue emoticon
I'd like to eventually post it, though.

Still looking into editing anomaly.

keep trying to sign in w/ your email/password but not working, maybe cause you are using it?

I can edit Mask of God from my account

It says you're still an author there. This's tomboy I'll sign out now and see if that works.

Did you also try scrolling do to the bottom of the post and seeing if the pencil, icon was there?

its not there

I know depending on the browser, some have the edit option visible, and others you have to hover over where it's supposed to be for it to appear.

the other options show up, just not edit

they seemed to have changed things recently, or maybe its just the settings

They're notorious for changing things for the worse. Very counter-intuitive engineers.

Sadly though, wordpress and tumblr have crappy layout options.

I'll change you to an admin and see if that works. You're set at author. Maybe they only let authors edit their own posts, now.

very possible, thank you

that worked, awesome!

you should post your blog more, at least do a special Kitchen Synck post every time you do a new one. In fact, given the stream of what people generally post there, I would say you should start posting your old ones w/ applicable subject matter, including unanswered questions for good proceeding conversation.

I do often. I was just giving that guy a hard time because he's been a Beatles blog promoter for years, and K is always plugging my blog on there, but he still doesn't seem to know it exists.

May 16th, 2:14pm
you do that w/ Kitchen Sync as well? they must slip past me there.

Yes, and that's exactly what I mean tongue emoticon

hmmm

btw, i watched Cloud Atlas w/ George Harrison's All Things Must Pass last night (around 3 AM) and it was really good. The strangest part was when the green VVV Beetle crashes off the side of a bridge and goes underwater it happened that the creepy Happy Birthday John song came on and totally nailed the sequence.

That sounds great. Currently watching The Monolith episode of Mad Men. Could they be more heavy handed with putting that IBM computer in the office, and more. The episode ends with On A Caroussel by The Hollies.

gotta get off of this mary go round

I know, its so ridiculous

Also in that episode, or the previous one, somebody told Don that the carousel in Central Park always reminds him of Don. That's where Catcher in the Rye ends.

I didn't even catch that one

geez

I'm sitting on more. Still processing and figgering out how to put it all together.

heh, you around?

could you help me out? can't get my films to play on Google +, wanna make sure its just my computer and not the videos themselves

They're playing

good thank you Sir!

June 21st, 10:53pm
hey, does that video rental place you go to have the 1976 Helter Skelter on VHS? I need that version for an experiment I'm pretty sure is spot-on.

June 22nd, 6:57am

They do.

June 22nd, 11:41am
if its 194 minutes we are in business. Turns out its the same length as Titanic

June 22nd, 11:35pm
There was a cut and censored 2-hour version released on VHS by Key Video in 1985, and a uncut and uncensored version made for TV and Released on DVD in 2004. The 2-hour Key Video VHS is now out-of-print, and as of 2015, neither 20th Century Fox nor Warner Bros., the latter of whom has begun to acquire some of Lorimar's films, has announced any plans to release a new VHS or DVD of the 2-hour version. For these reasons, copies of the original Key Video 2-hour VHS can be found online being sold for very high prices.

June 26th, 11:58am

They have a 184 minute Dvd. It could be a Dvd-w of the vhs, though.

found the 184, really what I want is the 194 minute version (which could be mostly non existstant as this is the origional) or the 119 minute version, which is what I'm leaning towards. The 119 version is only on VHS and was the only one available at the time of the Downward Spirals release, pretty sure this one will sync.

Julie Kearns just sent me this message, thought you might find of interest: On your latest podcast. Yes, in the "Rosemary's Baby" book that's supposed to be the Kennedys on the boat. In the book, a Keith Kennedy was supposed to be one of the weird former denizens of the hotel, but just exactly how he was a weird one is never clarified, only that he had parties. Then Castevet is reading a book on the Warren report and the Kennedy assassination when Mia and John visit them initially. Then the boat scene in Mia's "dream" has President Kennedy present in his Naval uniform and Jackie Kennedy is there as well.

Jackson Pollock. Dense and beautiful in person. And yes CIA funded arts, and no it doesn't mean the artists (painters, writers etc.) were in their pocket, they simply ended up being funded by the CIA without their knowledge. Seems the CIA also funded The Paris Review and there's some controversy about the Iowa writer's program.

* * * * *

Thought I'd write you this idea on the use of "The Catcher in the Rye". I lay some groundwork and then after several paragraphs get to the "Rye" part.

My current view on "Catcher in the Rye" is that its presence in the film refers to Basil Dearden's 1957 film "Big Time Operators" (renamed "The Smallest Show on Earth" for the US). Peter Sellers plays a film projectionist in it. It's quite a fun movie, actually. And in it you have some themes that come up again and again in Kubrick's work--the blurring between art and reality, the breaking of the 4th wall so that art has the impact on the viewer that ritual does.

In certain respects the "Smallest Show on Earth" film is very "Clockwork Orange". A couple receives an old movie theater as an inheritance. As it happens, the ancient theater is now next a train line. At this old theater, the Bijou, they play mostly these terrible old cowboy and Indian films (were made for this film). During cowboy and Indian chase scenes involving a train, the train that runs by the theater coincidentally passes at the same time, shaking it up, and coincidentally stops when the train stops on the screen, then restarts when the train on screen restarts. Wanting to learn how to make their theater more popular, the couple goes to a rival theater and we see during an entertainment break an "ice cream girl" (sweets dispenser) appear on the movie screen and come down the stairs toward the viewer. Then the same happens in reality in front of the movie screen and the audience buys all these sweets. The couple, to enhance refreshment sales in their theater, take it a step further. Not only do they have a sweets girl but they regulate the environment in the theater. The janitor is shown in the boiler room boosting the temperature so that while people are watching films on people near dying of thirst in the parched desert the audience also experiences great heat and thirst, and this boosts refreshment sales dramatically.

Kubrick repeatedly used trains in his films as a metaphor for synchronicity and cyclings of events. (I've written several things on this.) In "Clockwork Orange" we have the comic of the "ghost" train, in which a photographer takes a photo of a train accident that happened a hundred years beforehand. How did it happen? In "Eyes Wide Shut" the newspaper articles surrounding the one on the death of the model are on synchronous violent events on the subway/train happening several years apart almost to the day (those were real life). In the apartment in Boulder, Wendy is watching a film about the building of a railroad track and there is the painting of the horse running down the train track towards a pre-scripted destiny. Always the ideas of free will versus a mechanical universe are parlayed.

You may be interested in what I've written on Kubrick and anamnesis and ZKR and Dies Irae. It's too much to go into here but has to do with all of this.

http://idyllopuspress.com/idyllopus/film/stanley_kubrick_anemnesis_and_his_use_of_railroad_imagery.htm

http://idyllopuspress.com/idyllopus/film/remembrance_and_repetition_in_kubricks_the_shining.htm

But back to "The Smallest Show on Earth". The projectionist room even looks like the boiler room in the basement in "The Shining". The vibe of the room is the same and the projectors look like miniature versions of the boilers. (Have you ever noticed how the lobby has both forced air heating vents and radiant heaters? And there is no radiant heat used in the updated sections of the hotel? No radiant heat in the Colorado lounge or in room 237 etc. That's just a curious aside.) Peter Sellers has to wrestle constantly with these ancient projectors to keep them running and to keep them from destroying the film.

The Bijou Cinema having been revived (somewhat), the couple enters one day to hear the projector running and a piano being played. They go in and find the projectionist and the janitor and the ticket taker (all holdovers from the old days who have worked there for decades) watching that old silent feature "Comin' Through the Rye". On the screen we see the man departing, through the rye, and his lover telling him that before his return the rye will be harvested and her heart as empty as the field. Peter Sellers tells the couple that he has saved all these films from the old days and now the theater feels like old times.

Basil Dearden also was one of the directors in the old horror classic "Dead of Night". It would be impossible for you not to have seen this, and it's all about deja vu, just as with "The Shining". An architect goes to an old country house, hoping for some work, and realizes that it is a house he has dreamed about--a dream which ends badly. Will the same fate be suffered? In the meanwhile, we are treated to several ghostly paranormal tales told by other people who are there, who keep entreating the architect to stay. One of them is a comic paranormal tale involving golf and I've considered it may be the source for the "Golfing with the Greats" reference in the Boulder kitchen in "The Shining". One of the tales concerns a ventriloquist with a dummy that turns out to be independently alive, which served as basis for the later Danny Kaye film, "Knock on Wood", in which he is a ventriloquist. Basil Dearden included a reference to "Knock on Wood" in "The Smallest Show on Earth". "Knock on Wood" is the film that is playing at the rival theater when the couple goes to a show there and sees that refreshment sales were enhanced by the attractive sales girls who replicate the sales girl seen on the screen. So, in "The Smallest Show on Earth", the two real films used in the theaters are "Knock on Wood" and "Comin' Through the Rye". The rest were made for the film and concentrate so heavily on the Cowboy and Indian theme that when the old theater is about to be closed again the couple settles in to watch the "red-skins' bite the dust one last time.

I've wrestled a lot with Kubrick's use of "Catcher in the Rye" and it being a reference to "The Smallest Show on Earth" and the ideas of life coincident with art and synchronicity etc. is thus far (for me) what resonates most strongly.

Back to Kubrick and circularity of action, which is in all his films (see the articles on anamnesis), "Dead of Night" was one of the points of origin for the Steady State of the Universe theory conceived by cosmologists Fred Hoyle, Thomas Gold and Hermann Bondi.

"The steady-state theory was inspired at least in part by a 1940s movie entitled Dead of Night. The movie had four parts and a circular structure such that at the end the movie was the same as at the beginning. After seeing this movie in 1946, Thomas Gold, Hermann Bondi, and Fred Hoyle wondered if the universe might not be constructed the same way. The discussion that followed led ultimately to the steady-state theory." (Quoted from elsewhere.)

Kubrick employed this kind of circularity almost from the beginning. It was in "Fear and Desire" in which the film begins as it ends with the same view of the valley. He used it in "Clockwork Orange" with Alex revisiting in the 2nd part places he'd visited in the first. The same happens in "2001" with the astronauts, the 2nd half beginning with almost all shots replicating (with slight changes) shots from when Dave was doing his space walk. We have it in "The Shining" with the deja vu. We have it in "Eyes Wide Shut" especially with the synchronous event of the trains.

When I first saw "Barry Lyndon" (when it came out I was in college), I went home to my apartment almost in a kind of trance state and experienced a kind of brief vision/hallucination of the universe being in a state of perpetual deja vu/circularity. For some reason this had me also simultaneously experiencing it also as a pink ocean in which I was floating as I realized all this. At any rate, it was a powerfully strong event and I still remember being moved enough by the experience to write about it in a journal I kept at the time. And it was directly connected to my experience of "Barry Lyndon".

And as I write this paragraph, Beethoven's Ode to Joy plays from the front room in Sgt. Frog.

Anyway, IMHO etc. Have not reread the above or proofed it and hope it comes out semi-coherently. A lot to cover.

Interesting. It's Alex's copy of Uncanny which has the Ghost a Train story. Dear den makes me think of Durden, from Fight Club, who was also a projectionist.

Also interesting, my roommate's cat Maddie died during the full moon.

Perhaps a thing to do would be to write something together that intertwines with itself life The Book of the Law and American Prayer. We alternate chapters and then our premises converge at the end. Example: you postulate the Moonchild is LSD. I postulate it is the Bealtes, more specifically the PID mythos. Interesting that it is Paul, in 1967, who conducts the infamous LSD interview, which popularized LSD among young people in America & U.K. We could start from very different areas, expanding as we go, alternating writers each time there's a launching off point. Then converge with the LSD/Paul thing, but still different writers. Then conclude with our own thoughts again.

October 1st, 9:35pm
indeed, maybe you might want to look at what I have so far, though it isn't much

October 4th, 8:00pm

Sure, when you're feeling it.

October 5th, 1:14pm

I watched Dark Skies. Interesting they take the boy on 4th of July. They watch fireworks on TV and the same song plays that is playing in Poltergeist when Carol-Anne first hears the Beast.

October 5th, 3:39pm

Dang, now I'm watching Rodney Ascher's The Nightmare, about sleep paralysis. They say they are visited by dark beings whose bodies are like TV static...

October 6th, 6:12pm
wow, yes those are quite the 2 movies to watch in succession, haven't seen The Nightmare but I think I get the idea.

October 8th, 12:20pm

The mom in the new Poltergeist is played by Rosemary DeWitt. (She was also in Mad Men).

October 10th, 6:00pm

A friend of mine recently joined the band King Black Acid, and he says that the lead guy said when they were going to tour with Nine Inch Nails years ago, they partied with them and Trent Reznor was into "really weird ritualistic shit". fwiw

October 11th, 7:22pm
yeah, there is o question there, he is one of those, along w/ Manson and Gaga.

I am going to get full circle w/ John to Sean here pretty soon, made a connection.

October 12th, 7:02am

Crazy how when I met him, he talked to me about John's mom Julia.

October 13th, 8:44am

And with that, I think I figured out the starting point for my chapter in the White Album book.

October 17th, 7:32pm

Ever thought about how it's a tennis ball Jack throws around, then it's a tennis ball that rolls out to Danny from Room 237, then it's a tennis ball they use to test the permeability of the Other Side in Poltergeist. Tennis anyone?

yes, absolutely, many many times

October 19th, 5:22pm

And the only object in the closet at the beginning of EWS when Alice strips down are the tennis rackets.

October 19th, 7:53pm
awe yes, the tennis rackets at the beginning, there are those who argue the curtains suggest a pyramid as well, which further connects it is Tannis

Friday 6:23pm

It's very I teresting that Ro looks in the mirror when she holds up the charm and says tannis anyone? You can also scramble the syllables of tannis to make satan. Devils pepper. Another crazy thing about 4 & 5 being circled on her October calendar is that 4 & 5 equal 9. Oct 9 is Lennon's bday. Guy points to the 4 & 5 and says, perfect day to make a baby.

Birthday is followed by Yer Blues as well

Deep stuff. And I can't remember if you noticed, but there's yet another VW Beetle when Ro is in the taxi reading Witchcraft, there's one following behind them.

A white one.

exactly! that seems meant to connect w/ what she is reading, like it's the whole thing right there

Yep. Dr. Zaperstien
